At the Gala dinner 1996, a scholarship of 100.000 BF was granted to the "Bergerie du Faucon"
Founded by Father Gilbert , who restored a traditional farm in the Gorges du Verdon in the Haute-Provence, in France for young delinquents. Here, they not only learned about the animal but also passionately have taken car of them. In this way the youngsters discovered other values. The quality of the zoo therapy and the results obtained as regards the social reintegration are particularly interesting.
 During the Gala 2001 two special prizes were attributed :
One went to the non-profit organisation "Flics et Voyous" which aims at helping youngsters on the loose to achieve their social reinsertion in society by means of zoo therapy ; the other was granted to the "Home de la derniere Chance", the last hope refuge for animals which have become too old or too sick, and nobody any longer wants. |
